Position Overview:
The Busser/Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, as well as maintaining a clean and organized dining area. This role supports both the front and back of house by keeping dishes readily available, cleaning dining room tables, and ensuring the kitchen and dining area are always clean and presentable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Keep dining room tables clean, bussed, and ready for the next guest.
- Maintain a clean and organized dish room throughout the shift.
- Sweep and clean floors in both the dishroom and dining room to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Monitor dish supplies and ensure an adequate amount of clean dishes are available throughout the shift.
- Empty trash cans and transport trash to the designated dumpster area.
- Assist with additional cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring the restaurant maintains health and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours per shift) and frequently switch positions as required.
- Ability to move around the restaurant continuously throughout the day.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely move fryer baskets filled with items in and out of fryers when needed.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in cleaning and maintaining restaurant standards.
- Basic reading and writing skills for understanding cleaning instructions and following checklists.
- Ability to observe details and ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a dishwashing or bussing role in a restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with restaurant sanitation standards and practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a team-oriented mindset.
