Position Overview:

The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing all operations in a fast-paced quick-service restaurant environment. This role is critical in maintaining operational standards, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving overall restaurant success. The General Manager will oversee team performance, inventory management, and guest satisfaction while ensuring that all health and safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily operations in a high-volume, quick-service environment.
  • Communicate essential information clearly and effectively to the team.
  • Order food, beverages, and supplies from vendors, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Monitor and manage weekly inventory to prevent shortages and control waste.
  • Supervise all shifts (opening, mid-day, and closing) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and onboard new team members to meet staffing needs.
  • Ensure completion of daily operational checklists (opening, mid-day, closing, food safety, sanitation, etc.).
  • Organize food items, packaging, and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during peak times.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints promptly to maintain a high standard of hospitality.
  • Oversee cash handling, ensuring accurate processing of transactions and daily deposits.
  • Handle refunds, voids, and customer checkouts as needed.
  • Create and manage team schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels and labor cost control.
  • Implement corrective actions and provide ongoing coaching to improve team performance when necessary.
  • Train and develop the Assistant Manager to ensure they are equipped to manage operations independently when needed.
  • Support kitchen and front-of-house operations as necessary, including washing dishes and disposing of trash when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand and move around for extended periods (8+ hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 50+ pounds in the restaurant.
  • Experience with quick-service restaurant operations, particularly in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a diverse team.
  • Strong cash handling and money management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a manager in a quick-service or fast-food restaurant.
  • Proven ability to manage operations efficiently during busy periods.
  • Customer service-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory software.
